Activities near Løgstør Camping
Just a 5-7 minutes walk through the forest from the camping site and you are at the museum. The Limefjord Museum portrays the maritime part of Løgstørs history. boatbuilding, fishing, seafaring, and haggling are just a small part of what the museum has to offer in its rich catalog, which also includes an open workshop for historical boatbuilding. make sure to visit the museum's display of their collection of historical vessels in Frederick the 7th's canal, or their many other activities throughout the year.
Frederick the 7th's channel
Frederick the 7th's channel is a 4.4km long and ca. 25m broad channel constructed from 1856 to 1861. for the purpose of solving various shipping problems due to shallow waters. The channel runs south from Løgstør to Lendrup beach. At the time of its contruction the channel was the single greatest contruction work in Denmark, although it was built by hand and by no more than 400 workers. In 2007 the channel was elected as one of northern Jutlands 7 wonders.
12 km south of the campingsite lies the family owned Glenholm vineyard which in 2006 was the first commercial vineyard in northern Jutland. Glenholm offers a guided tour of their vineyard and the history of wine production each thursday and saturday. the tour can naturally be concluded with a winetasting.
